Lily's work is largely inspired by nature and the environment around her, capturing the light and atmosphere, while painting the countryside of locations she has visited and subjects such as the landscapes, seascapes, woodland, gardens and flowers feature in her work. While she paints in Oils, Watercolour, Acrylic and Mixed Media she favors the medium of Pastels enjoying the spontaneity of applying colour and the vibrant yet subtle effects that can be achieved.

Lily O'Rourke has been painting and exhibiting for many years and during these years Lily has explored different media and techniques and is a full member of the Pastel Society of Ireland since 2001.
